MOTOR BODY MANUFACTURERS
|
Brian Evans served his apprenticeship as a motor body engineer in the experimental department of Car Bodies Limited, Coventry.
In 1980, he and his younger son John established North Devon Metalcraft, handmaking replacement vintage car panels for all makes of car from mild steel and aluminium.
In 1982, Brian's older son, Paul joined the business which continues to be run by the family.
The business grew to specialise in the Triumph TR range and is the world's only manufacturer of the Triumph TR2/3/3a body shell. Subsequently, the tooling for manufacture of all panels and whole body shells for the Jaguar C-Type and AC Cobra has been developed. Most recently, the development of replacement panels for the Austin Healey 3000 has commenced. Through all of this time, a full range of fuel tanks has been manufactured to original designs and specifications.
